Did you know that an ancient holistic strategy for health is regaining popularity throughout the whole world? It’s called TCM, and that stands for “Traditional Chinese Medicine.” TCM has a long history and deep understanding of human physiology and etiology. It has been used as a treatment for all kinds of diseases and syndromes for thousands of years. Clearly, TCM’s effectiveness in preventing diseases and reestablishing health has stood the test of time.
TCM diagnostic methods are simple and sophisticated at the same time. Diagnosis is by observation (“look”), by interrogation (“ask”), by palpation (“touch”), and by auscultation (“hear” and “smell”). To illustrate this, imagine driving slowly through a neighborhood. One can get a relatively accurate idea of the socioeconomic status of the residents without the need to look inside the houses. Likewise, based on a sophisticated understanding of the human body, TCM doctors look and palpate carefully at “outer” signs to arrive at a fairly accurate assessment of “inner” conditions.
TCM treatment uses acupuncture, herbal formulas, moxibustion, cupping, Chinese massage “Tuina,” and other modalities to prevent and/or correct disharmony in the body and restore your body’s natural physical, mental, and spiritual balance.
